Word Worker press release

Businesses are flocking to a new Gloucestershire networking group, set up by a local businessman to fill a void in the Stroud area.

StroudNet, set up six months ago by business coach Robin Waite, is now attracting some 50 visitors at each monthly event.

StroudNet meetings are held at the Stonehouse Court Hotel and run from 9.30 to midday, followed by lunch. They include presentations, workshop style sessions and an opportunity to network. The next meeting will be on February 21.

Robin, based in Stroud, said he was thrilled at the success of StroudNet, which he set up to give businesses in Stroud and the wider Gloucestershire area a chance to get together to network, was well as learn about and share experiences through the talks.

“In June 2016 I saw an opportunity as there weren’t many regular networking groups running in the Stroud Valleys that attracted business owners from further afield to do business in Stroud,” said Robin, who became a coach following a successful career running his own design and advertising agency.

“The fantastic relationship I have with Stonehouse Court Hotel and their location means business owners travel from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol and even Chepstow to attend StroudNet – as well as our local guests. I also blend networking with a good amount of learning with the 2 regular speaker slots so there is plenty of value.”

This month’s ‘inspirational’ slot will be delivered by Angela de Souza from the Women’s Business Club and author of I Did it in my Pyjamas.  The ‘masterclass’ session will be run by life coach Sandra Webber.

Robin added: “Whilst the event finishes at 12pm, people regularly stay until after 2pm networking which is a testament to the business going on in the room.”

StroudNet costs £22 per person, and can been booked through stroudnet.eventbrite.co.uk. For more information about StroudNet, contact Robin via  or call him on 01453 884100.
