Word Worker press release

A specialist conveyancing, wills and probate law firm in Swindon has changed its name.

This month Hoffman Male, which has its headquarters in West Swindon and an office in Bristol, became Hoffman Briggs, to reflect the names of its partners: Mary Hoffman and Yvette Briggs.

Set up in 1979 by Roger Male, Mary joined in 2005 and became a partner in 2007, and Yvette joined in 2013 as a partner, setting up the Bristol office. Roger stepped down as a partner last year, and although initially he remained as an associate he has now retired and moved with his family to the Southampton area.

“We decided that the time was right for a change of name to reflect that fact that Yvette and I run the business together,” said Mary. “The business is thriving. We have two great teams in Swindon and Bristol and Yvette has done a fantastic job in setting up the Bristol office.”

Yvette, who until recently has been known professionally by her maiden name of Morcombe, said: “The new name is all part of our vision for the business. Bristol and Swindon and going really well, and we may expand further at some stage in the future.”

When Roger Male first started the business is was based in Old Town. It then moved twice before relocating to Windmill Hill Business Park in 2011. The Bristol office, opened in 2013, is on Aztec West, near Almondsbury. Mary and Yvette are recruiting for both offices to support a growing workload.

Mary added: “The name may be new, but nothing else has changed. We will continue to provide the same level of excellent service our clients have come to expect, acting as specialists in our field of conveyancing, wills and probate.”
