A 14-year-old Swindon schoolgirl’s dream of getting to the World Jetski Championships looked set to be dashed due to the lack of sponsorship.

Already the European Champion and with a very good chance of winning the world title, Sophie Perrin needed to raise £5,000 to get to the finals in Arizona.

Word Worker stepped in to help raise her profile and bring in some sponsorship. We gave our services for free, sending out a series of press releases and arranging a press call which resulted in Sophie being covered in the newspapers, on local radio and on regional TV.

The icing on the cake was getting Sophie on BBC Radio 2’s drive-time show, hosted by Simon Mayo. Sophie and her dad Shane chatted for nearly two minutes and the exposure got her a sponsorship deal with a soft drinks company.

Word Worker are happy to consider some pro bono work for charities, as we have for Wiltshire-based youth charity Inner Flame. Why not contact us now to see if we can help you too?
